Haunts & History of the Sandhills - Statement of Faith

What We Believe

We at Sandhills Paranormal Investigations of North Carolina (SPIN) are followers of Christ. We are not seeking to undermine our faith, but to understand more fully the world as God created it. We are not zealots, or bible thumpers, but we do take our faith seriously and will operate according to that faith in all our standards and practices. To a great many, Christian and non-Christian alike, Iím sure that our profession of faith seems to contradict the purpose behind our activities, but we do not believe that the realm of the paranormal and Christianity need to be mutually exclusive of each other. But because of our beliefs, you will find that we do not engage in or tolerate certain practices, i.e. Ouija Boards or sťances. Please see our section on etiquette for a full list. We are entering this arena with the idea of exploring naturally occurring phenomena and discovering the science behind it. Haunts and History is not a ministry and our faith will not be brought up unless asked or it is relevant to the situation, but be aware that it is who we are. We do not hold hostility towards other beliefs, so please do not hesitate to contact us for help or to contribute information to our site. We are both here because we share a like-minded fascination with the subject of ghosts. The purpose of this site is to help, inform, and entertain, not to proselytize. But, for a more in-depth idea of the beliefs that shape our personal faith please read on.

We believe in one infinitely perfect, eternal and personal God, the transcendent Creator and sovereign Sustainer of the universe. This one God is Triune, existing eternally and simultaneously as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three persons in the Godhead share equally and completely the one divine nature, and are therefore the same God, coequal in power, nature, and glory. We believe the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant Word of God. The Bible is therefore our supreme and final authority in all matters that it addresses. We believe that everything that exists, has existed, or will exist is the creation of one God and reflects His perfect will. We believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins and that He died, rose again in the flesh, and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. We believe God created mankind in His image and likeness to fellowship with Him and give Him glory. We believe in original sin as a result of an act of rebellion by Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, and as such we believe that salvation is only attainable by repentance and accepting the gift of Christís sacrifice as payment for our sins. We believe that all we are and all that we do will always reveal the Glory of God. We believe that our Christ will come again to reign over all creation.
